Consistent quality, keep coming back

This was my third purchase from Disaster Area Designs, a DMC.micro this time. Like my previous orders (a DMC-4 and a DPC-5), the build quality is always top-notch. Their stuff just feels durable, which is important for gigging. Shipping was about the same as last time, maybe 5 days to get here. I keep coming back because I know what I'm getting – reliable gear that does what it's supposed to without any issues. They've been consistent for years.

Good stuff, works as expected

Got a DPC-8EZ from these guys. It showed up when they said it would, and everything was in the box. Hooked it up, programmed it, and it just worked. No fuss, which is exactly what I wanted. Happy with the purchase.

Solid pedal, could improve docs

I purchased a DMC-6D and it arrived in good condition about a week after ordering. The unit itself is well-built and feels sturdy, which is a big plus. It integrated well with my existing pedals and has been reliable on my board. My only minor gripe was that the online documentation, while present, could be a bit clearer in some sections for a complete novice. It took a bit of trial and error to get some functions dialed in, but overall, it's a very capable controller and I'm happy with the purchase. Good value for what it does.

Decent value for a MIDI controller

I was looking for a new MIDI controller and saw the DPC-5 on their site. The price was competitive compared to other brands, and they had free shipping, which was a nice bonus. It arrived in about a week. Setting it up wasn't too hard, and it's doing everything I need it to. For the money, I think I got a good deal. Felt like a solid purchase.

Solid MIDI controller, great support

I bought an Xchange MIDI controller from Disaster Area Designs a few weeks ago. Ordering was easy on their site, and it shipped out pretty quickly, though it took about 7 days to reach me in California. When I got it, I had a small question about the firmware, so I emailed their support. They got back to me the same day with a clear answer. The controller itself feels very well-built and sturdy, not cheap plastic. I've been using it with my pedalboard and it's been rock solid. Programming it took a little bit of learning, but their online manual was helpful. Definitely a good piece of gear and a good company to deal with.

thinking about getting one of their DPC-5 controllers. anyone have experience comparing it to something like a Voodoo Lab GCX? is it pretty straightforward to set up?

A Andre Q. 2 months ago
Totally different beasts, man. The DPC-5 is more for MIDI control and switching stuff, while the GCX is all about loop switching for your pedals. If you're doing a lot of MIDI stuff, the DPC is way better. Setup is pretty easy with their software, takes a little time to wrap your head around but it's logical.

Yeah, I had a GCX for a while. The DPC-5 is way more compact and powerful for MIDI stuff. If you're just switching loops, the GCX is fine but if you want to control amps, effects, everything with one button, the DPC is the way to go. Their manual is pretty good too, helped me get started quickly.

hey, anyone ordered from Disaster Area Designs before? how long did it take for your stuff to ship out? i'm in new york and kinda need this pedalboard controller for a gig next month.

F Faith 3 months ago
Yeah, I've ordered a couple of times. They're usually pretty good, not Amazon speed but reasonable. I think my last order took about a week to get to me in Philly, so NYC should be similar, maybe a day or two less.

Mine was a bit slower, but it was during a holiday sale. Took maybe 10 days to hit California. They do ship USPS Priority mail from what I remember so that's usually 2-3 days transit once it's actually in the mail.
